Most of the museum's pots were made during the Mycenaen years and the protogeometric period. The pottery of the later Bronze Age provides the background to many stories including Homer's epics. Distinctive Mycenaen pottery has been found across the eastern Mediterranean as Achei was one of the sea peoples and their power was based on trade.
